Country

Do you love waking up in the morning, pulling your boots on and throwing in a dip? Are you one to hop into your truck to go sling up some mud with the windows down and eagles soaring above screeching sounds of freedom? Then country music is for you. Don’t think that quite fits your style? Maybe you just want to sit back and relax with a little something to set the mood for your special friend? Don’t sweat it, we got you. If you’re not already a fan of country music, what’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the genre? If you’re thinking trucks, women, and beer, I guess I can’t say I blame you entirely because you’re not exactly wrong. Plus, a lot of my personal favorites are exactly about  that. But let’s be honest for a second here: country music isn’t just for rednecks and hillbillies as not all songs are about trucks, women, and beer. Country has so much more to offer, especially now with emerging artists like Eric Church, Jason Aldean, and Luke Bryan; w...

Chance The Rapper Ft Future - My Peak (Snippet)

Image
Hey guys check out this quick video from Chance the Rapper. Chance is giving us a sneak peak of the new projects he is working on. This would be his second song with Future and the first one "Smoke Break" was a big hit. Chance, being one of my favorite rappers has been putting out great music since 10 Day . I was fortunate enough to be attending a Childish Gambino concert when Chance the Rapper had an opening performance. Once I heard 10   Day, I knew Chance was going to do big things. He later then released Acid Rap  which was a huge hit, but he was talking about drugs the whole time. On Acid Rap, Chance started to get more features such as Ab Soul. A couple great songs on that mixtape would be: "Smoke Again" and "Acid Rap". Later Chance worked with a group and they called themselves Social Experiment and they brought different music with more instruments. One of the hot songs would be "Sunday Candy", Which happens to be one of my favorite songs...

Hip Hop/Rap

In the music industry today, as evidence on  iTunes, the most popular music seems to be Rap and Hip-Hop, which personally, is my favorite genre of music. Lately there has been a lot of big time rappers dropping new music. The competition in the industry is very fierce. Some of these  popular artists dropping new music would be: Migos, Big Sean, Drake, Future, and Chance. Migos’ new album “Culture” has been off to a great start. Before Migos dropped their album, they released “Bad and Boujee”. Childish Gambino gave Migos a shout out during his acceptance speech for the Golden Globes calling them “The Beatles of this era”. After that the song really blew up and it gave Migos a lot of publicity. Migos has been known for bringing out different types of music and as of today would have the hottest rappers on their albums. On “Culture” they have features such as Dj Khaled, Lil Uzi Vert, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, and Travis Scott. Some of the hot songs would be “What the Price,” “T-S...

He has had many opportunities to sign with a big label but chooses to stay independent. Comment and let us know what you think.

The Real R&B

Image
R&B, originally known as rhythm and blues, started in the 1960s and has grown bigger through the years. Solo artist and groups considered themselves R&B and have stuck to the soulful and smooth lyrics. Many say that R&B artist make music that is too sexual, but when famous artist sing, they don't degrade women and they speak of sex in a beautiful way. For example, Solo artists like Marvin Gaye was a top R&B artist for the music he created. One of his top songs "Sexual Healing" was number 1 on the Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart. Even though it may be referring to having a sexual feeling with a woman, it still brought hundreds of people to listen and fall in love with his music. His music is so popular in the R&B world that alternative artist have used Marvin Gaye's music as their own. Marvin Gaye made a top hit song called "Let's Get It On" which is a song to set the perfect mood if you’re trying to have a fun and romantic nig...

Popular 'Pop' Music

Image
Popular music, or more commonly known as ‘pop’ music, has been around for centuries.  However, uniquely enough, this popular music has been identified primarily under the genre many recognize as rock. These two terms for music were used interchangeably until the 60’s when they became styles in competition with  each other. Since Pop music has become its own genre altogether, what does a song need to be considered a pop song? Do these characteristics differ greatly from the other genres or songs that would appear to be similar but are not? These are a few of the pressing questions that some might be curious about but may not necessarily express openly. According to some definitions of pop music, this genre claims to appeal to a general audience rather than a particular ‘sub-culture’ pertaining mostly to craftsmanship rather than common “artistic” qualities. With this in mind, it is easier to categorize music and artists. Taylor Swift with ZAYNE Speaking of artists, ...
