In the music industry today, as evidence on  iTunes, the most popular music seems to be Rap and Hip-Hop, which personally, is my favorite genre of music. Lately there has been a lot of big time rappers dropping new music. The competition in the industry is very fierce. Some of these  popular artists dropping new music would be: Migos, Big Sean, Drake, Future, and Chance.

Migos’ new album “Culture” has been off to a great start. Before Migos dropped their album, they released “Bad and Boujee”. Childish Gambino gave Migos a shout out during his acceptance speech for the Golden Globes calling them “The Beatles of this era”. After that the song really blew up and it gave Migos a lot of publicity. Migos has been known for bringing out different types of music and as of today would have the hottest rappers on their albums. On “Culture” they have features such as Dj Khaled, Lil Uzi Vert, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, and Travis Scott. Some of the hot songs would be “What the Price,” “T-Shirt,” and “Bad and Boujee”.

Big Sean recently dropped his fourth album “I Decided” being a number one album and is number one on the top 200 billboard charts. Big Sean has a lot of work to do if he wanted to top his last album. But from listening to it, Big Sean never lets us down. He did release a couple songs earlier but watch out because he has big features on his album including Eminem and Migos.

Chance The Rapper dropped his third project recently with “Coloring Book” which blew up. This album won Chance three Grammy’s including best rap performance, best new artist, and best rap album. Chance has come a long way since “10 Day” which was his first album. Chance went on tour with Childish Gambino in 2013 which really helped Chance get recognized in the rap industry. Chance later dropped “Acid Rap” which got a lot of attention by some big name rappers and rap labels. Chance likes to be free and on his own and has turned down a lot of deals with rap labels. Finally Chance dropped “Coloring Book” and had many features such as 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Jeremiah, Young Thug, Lil Yachty, Justin Bieber, Future, and Ty Dolla $ign. This album really helped people see what Chance is really about and he received  a lot of love for it.  Also Chance does not charge for his albums which is a very unique thing because no other artist does that for their fans. Stay tuned, it looks like Chance is going to be dropping new music soon.

Drake has had great success with all of the albums he has dropped so far but one that really stood out would be his latest one “Views”. Drake set many records with that album beating Michael Jackson for the most weeks at number one on the billboard charts. Drake had many hits on the album such as “Controlla," “One Dance,” “Too Good,” “Hotline Bling,” and “Pop Style”. Drake won a couple Grammy’s with “Hotline Bling” including best rap/sung performance and best rap song. Drake has been teasing us with different release dates on his new project “More Life” But it looks like it will be released March 4th. Drake has released two snippets from “More Life” and so far he is not letting us down with the music he is putting out. Stay tuned, Drake is doing big things.

We also cannot forget about Future. Yet again Future released another album last Friday which was a huge success. The album “FUTURE” is a project that Future had made on his own with no features. Some of the popular songs would be “Rent Money” and “Draco”. Future has been featured in many songs lately helping blow up promote himself even more. But Future goes down as a top 5 rapper right now.
